About Us
I got onto the Internet back in 1990 around the time our daughter was born. I was an active participant on some of CompuServe’s travel and entrepreneur forums. If you can remember USING CompuServe then this site is definitely the right place for you
My reasons for getting online then are the reasons I choose to be online today–I like connecting with like minds on issues I care about. Initially I wanted tips to help me care for my little ones while I worked at home. Later I wanted more information about destinations I love (like Jamaica) and forums where I could discuss work issues with peers in my profession.
Today I feel like I’m entering uncharted territory. Life with grown children. Technically I’m not fully there yet. My eldest teen is off at college and my youngest is a Junior in high school. But let’s face it, the relationship we have with our senior teens and young adults is a far cry from the relationship we had back when they expected you to tuck them into bed at night.
My mentoring skills are called upon a little more than my “mothering” skills these days.
Often times don’t you feel like you miss that “baby” you held so long ago? Then at still other times aren’t you excited about the opportunities that await them in life as (hopefully) thoughtful adults?
So where does that leave us?
We’re no longer looking for diaper bags or back to school clothes. Instead we’re in the market for some new travel luggage, some good financial planning advice and some smart and savvy friends who can share in our excitement about a new business, career, home remodeling project or the rekindling of a special love in our lives.
Wouldn’t you say we’re in our “prime years“? After all we’re seasoned moms, we’ve seen it all (if not too much); we’ve raised/raising kids; built/managed a household; some have maneuvered a career or business and most of us have likely learned more than we ever dreamed we’d know about the men we love, or not, as the case may be!
I hope you’ll explore the categories we have for you here on this site and add your own stories to the mix. I also encourage you to share your perspectives on others’ viewpoints. Like any great gathering of women it will be the conversations that will make Moms’ Prime Years.com a special place for each of us.
Thank you for visiting…grab a coffee and take a look at what we’ve got to offer. If there’s anything you’d like added drop me a line here and I’ll get right to it!
Cheers,
Sharon
