If You Can’t Make It to France Try Montreal

By Momsprim • Aug 6th, 2008 • Category: Travel & Social Life

Is France on your wish list of places you’d like to visit? If the price tag that goes with this trip is still a little more than your bank account can’t stand right now, there are substitutes clos[er] to home that might be just the ticket you need.

Why not visit Montreal? Montreal is located in the French speaking province of Quebec in Canada and it is a beautiful city filled with wonderful architecture, hip jazz festivals, beautiful galleries and parks, Cathedrals and Basilicas and a great selection of hotels and neighborhoods.

Montreal is a popular vacation destination for many New Yorker’s as it’s only about a 6 hr. drive. Montreal also has an international airport so you’re likely to find a good deal on flights if you book early.

Many of the city’s good hotels offer fantastic weekend getaway rates. For example, the Doubletree by Hilton Montreal Centre-Ville was offering a $169 per night weekend package that includes overnight accommodation and a deluxe breakfast for 2 adults and 2 children.

The Montreal Visitors and Convention Bureau is a great place to visit on the web for more information.
